Thermal instability in a ferrimagnetic resonator strongly coupled to a loop-gap microwave cavity

چکیده
We study the nonlinear response of a ferrimagnetic sphere resonator (FSR) strongly coupled to microwave loop-gap (LGR). The measured in regime weak nonlinearity allows extraction FSR Kerr coefficient and its cubic damping rate. find that there is certain range driving parameters which system exhibits instability. In range, self-sustained modulation reflected power off generated. instability attributed absorption-induced heating above Curie temperature.

High cooperativity in coupled microwave resonator ferrimagnetic insulator hybrids.
We report the observation of strong coupling between the exchange-coupled spins in a gallium-doped yttrium iron garnet and a superconducting coplanar microwave resonator made from Nb. The measured coupling rate of 450 MHz is proportional to the square root of the number of exchange-coupled spins and well exceeds the loss rate of 50 MHz of the spin system. This demonstrates that exchange-coupled...

We realize a cavity magnon-microwave photon system in which a magnetic dipole interaction mediates strong coupling between the collective motion of a large number of spins in a ferrimagnet and the microwave field in a three-dimensional cavity. By scaling down the cavity size and increasing the number of spins, an ultrastrong coupling regime is achieved with a cooperativity reaching 12,600. Inte...

We investigate the thermal and Kerr nonlinearity in a system of two optically-coupled silica microtoroid resonators experimentally and theoretically. A model for two coupled oscillators describing nonlinear resonance curves is developed. Stability of the static solutions is analyzed. It is shown that thermal nonlinearity is responsible for driving the eigenfrequencies of the two resonators apar...

A piezoelectric voltage coupled microwave reentrant cavity has been developed. The central cavity post is bonded to a piezoelectric actuator allowing the voltage control of small post displacements over a high dynamic range. We show that such a cavity can be implemented as a voltage tunable resonator, a transducer for exciting and measuring mechanical modes of the structure, and a transducer fo...
متن کاملElectron Spin Echoes with a Loop-Gap Resonator*
We report our preliminary findings on the use of a split-ring (I) or loop-gap resonator in electron spin echo (ESE) spectroscopy at 9 GHz. The loop-gap (LG) resonator of Froncisz and Hyde (2) was reported to have several features which could make it more advantageous than the overcoupled (3) TEro2 microwave cavity traditionally used in ESE experiments (4). Among these are the large uniform micr...
